Advice to the Prime Minister

Letter August 06, 2018
It would be better use the PM house as a ministerial office

KARACHI: Post the July 25th, in his victory speech Imran Khan revealed his intention of not moving into the Prime Minister House. Khan stated that as a leader of a country that is facing tough times, he would be ashamed to live in the PM House. His decision is much appreciated, as it will save the country from an exorbitant expense. However, instead of opening the Prime Minister House to the public or turning it into an educational site, it would be better if it is used as a ministerial office. All the ministries should be moved to the PM House, which will bring them under one roof. This will put everyone under the direct supervision of the prime minister and encourage efficiency. Furthermore, it will help reduce the power crisis. Another measure that can be taken is that the current ministry office spaces can then be rented out. This would help earn additional revenue. I believe that it is not a very mammoth task and can be accomplished in a relatively short period.
