The main problem that is directly affecting the students is frequent power outages
KARACHI: Karachiites have been suffering from a myriad of civic issues, but one problem that is directly affecting the students is frequent power outages across the city. Scheduled power cuts of an hour or so are bearable, but the citizens have also to put up with unannounced electricity cuts, which run into hours. A hot day with still fans and a night without the glowing bulb hardly allow us students any room to study and prepare for our exams. No electricity means no or less than the needed sleep and rest, which is bound to give us an exhausting day at school. And when K-Electric is contacted for lodging a complaint for unannounced loadshedding, they come up with many lame excuses, but seldom takes steps to redress our grievances. I, on behalf of all students of Karachi, appeal to the government and the K-Electric administration to take serious steps to set things right in this regard. As an interim measure, they should at least do away with unannounced loadshedding so that we can focus on our studies.
