Pakistan and Afghanistan are the only two countries in the world still trying to eradicate the polio virus
KARACHI: As a, it is admirable that the two have decided to start synchronised campaigns. Such campaigns will ensure that anti-polio drives are conducted in cities and districts of both countries at the same time and more importantly those affected by the virus will not be allowed to cross into either of the country.
The exercise will render substantial results in a short period of time if executed at the optimum level, since to control border crossings from Afghanistan has always been a tedious task for the authorities here, who have not been able to fully control it.
