Erdogan’s victory in Turkey’s presidential election is an example for our country’s civil and military leadership
ORAKZAI AGENCY: Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s victory in Turkey’s presidential election is an example for our country’s civil and military leadership. The longest-serving Turkish leader has changed the fate of his country by ending the foreign debt which entrapped the country and made it dance to the tune of the West, as the world’s leading lenders, the IMF and World Bank, are in the control of Western states. But in Pakistan democracy is not quite an option for effective governance and the resolution of long-standing issues and challenges.
Anyhow, regardless of the democracy’s poor past record, elected governments should be given a chance to complete their term to resolve challenges and complete development plans so that the system’s benefits can be reaped.
