PTI’s government in KP launched numerous programmes to improve the literacy rate of the province
PESHAWAR: The PTI’s government in Khyber-Paktunkhwa in its five-year tenure launched numerous programmes to improve the literacy rate of the province. Just some days ago, a programme to restructure the syllabus taught in schools was carried forward by the provincial education department. Although for one reason or the other, the efforts have failed to bear any fruit for the province.
From the infrastructure of the schools to the curriculum, perhaps it is due to the misdirected labour of the government that many of the districts of the province still fare below average with poor indicator rankings. As per the rankings of the K-P Elementary and Secondary Education Department’s District Evaluation System, Kohistan is the worst performing with regard to improvement in the quality of education provided, followed by Peshawar, ranking it the second worst in the entire province.
Considering the graph of its performance even in the provincial capital, the tall claims of the PTI government seem to be hollow. It tells much about how and where the government has utilised its resources and expertise. And if given a chance again via votes, what one can expect of it.
