A one-window cell of LDA issued me a computerised slip as the no-objection certificate for my property
LAHORE: After the payment of all dues, a one-window cell of the Lahore Development Authority(LDA) issued me a computerised slip as the no-objection certificate for my property. Happy to receive the NOC, although after a month’s delay I was less than aware of what is yet to come. When I visited the LDA on a given date, an official informed me of the status of my application as still pending.
Upon inquiring for the reasons of the delay, a senior officer informed me that my plot file had already been sent to the next department (Patwar Khana within LDA offices) after necessary verification at his end. Upon visiting the patwari of that department, I was subtly asked to pay a huge sum as bribe for the clearance of my file. Disappointed, I questioned the system and the honesty of the officers working in these government offices.
The authorities concerned should pay attention and take stern action against these black sheep, who are involved in maligning the department’s reputation.
