HYDERABAD: PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari has promised to provide at least one government job to a member of every family from Sindh should his party come to power in the next general elections. As impractical as it may sound, the statement quite well explains how the Sindh government has been run by the same party for the past decade. This time around the party co-chairman promises to provide people with a government job without any consideration for merit.
It would have been better if the former president had sought support from the province on the basis of his party’s performance in its previous two tenures, albeit that would have required him to appoint qualified and skilled officers in the government.
