The primary blame for our ills rests on the shoulders of General Zia who was perhaps Pakistan’s worst enemy.
MANCHESTER: What I don’t understand is that why do we need to interfere in other countries when our people are living far worse lives? What do we get by supporting the Kashmiri ‘mujahideen’, the Afghan ‘mujahideen’ and so on? Do we not expect Afghanistan and India to respond in the same manner?
Of course, the primary blame for our ills rests on the shoulders of General Zia who was perhaps Pakistan’s worst enemy. Along with the maulvis, he killed off democracy in its infancy and brought to Pakistan a still-pervasive ‘Kalashnikov culture’. We don’t need to involve ourselves in fighting wars for other people, what our people need is peace and a good quality of life. We should learn to live and let live others in peace.
