The situation in India-occupied Kashmir is worsening every day with increasing people joining the resistance
LAHORE: The situation in India-occupied Kashmir is worsening every day and the majority of the populace is left with no choice but to join the ongoing resistance in the valley. And a recent news story titled ‘Death of a professor: Changing Kashmir’s narrative?’ published in The Express Tribune on June 6th lends credence to this. The fact that a 32-year-old educated, PhD holder, lecturer joined the ranks of freedom fighters have only raised Kashmiri people’s anxieties, as many see no other way than to join the militants and fight for the right of self-determination.
The brutalities committed by the Indian forces have been increasing. In a recent incident the paramilitary forces crushed a Kashmiri man under the wheels intentionally. What is worse is that this blatant violation of human rights is continuously being ignored by international organisations such as the United Nations. Kashmiris have been left on their own to fight what is really a mass genocide. The valley has been bleeding for years. And no one seems to be ready to help put a stop to it.
