KARACHI: Once again, a religious festivity for the pilgrims in India and Pakistan has become politicised, as India refused Pakistani pilgrims visas for the Urs of Hazrat Amir Khusro that will be held in India from June 28th onwards.
Ever since partition, not just issues like water and resource distribution but religion too has remained hot button issues deciding the course of the bilateral relationship between the two countries. Often on account of demolition of worship places of Hindus and Muslims or mob lynching of Muslims in India. Religion for long has been a highly sensitive issue between the two estranged neighbours.
