The move is likely to create a multiplier effect
LAHORE: In a bid to provide uninterrupted power supply to domestic consumers during Ramazan, the government will reduce the power supply for industries by 10 hours. Although the timings for the load-shedding are yet to be announced, reducing the power supply during the working hours will drastically affect the production of industries. The move is likely to create a multiplier effect where reduced outcome might just also affect the workers’ wages particularly those who are paid for per unit of output produced. With that, if the industries try to keep the wage rates intact, reduction in power supply will increase the business’ cost of production anyway.
