Affordable for all

Letter May 17, 2018
A social media campaign was initiated last year to protest this price hike

KARACHI: Over the past few years, we have witnessed wholesale vendors selling vegetables and fruits increasing their prices during the month of Ramazan. In fact, last year to protest this price hike a social media campaign was initiated where citizens were asked to boycott buying fruits and vegetables from street vendors for three days. However, this year fortunately the provincial government has intervened and has decided to fix prices almost on a daily basis. Hopefully, this year everyone — from less affluent families to the ones living in gated communities — will be able to afford the commodities.
