Palestinians were once again brutally killed
RAWALPINDI: The atrocities in Gaza is for all to see, with graphic pictures being taken and shared and a number of deaths being recorded, but the world, especially those with the power to make it stop, seem unperturbed by the bloodshed in Palestine.
On the day the US Embassy was inaugurated in the disputed city of Jerusalem, protest broke in Gaza against the Israeli troops and Palestinians were once again brutally killed. While officials from Israel and the US inaugurated the embassy with smiles on their faces, the Palestinians wept and cried for the deaths of their loved ones.
The stark difference between the realities of the two countries — Israel and Palestine — is nothing but a reminder of how the world is divided, and many countries have vested interests in keeping the divide alive. The British colonial rule has perhaps inspired many heads of nations to maintain the “divide and rule” policy, as no regulatory body or big powers are interested in doing more than just providing lip service for the Palestinian cause.
