LAHORE: The opinion piece published in this newspaper, titled “Fake security and Islamabad Airport”, highlights the vulnerable and poor security situation at the airport. However, the case in point is one among dozens of such places across the country that demand foolproof security plans.
Moreover, where the government has spent billions over the renovation of the airport how did it not bother to double-check the equipment before handing it over to the security personnel is beyond one’s understanding. Moreover, how did the security staff too not point at the equipment being almost useless in detecting security issues? Since airports are security-sensitive locations, the government must take prompt action against the responsible immediately.
