Use of conscience

Letter May 15, 2018
In no possible reaction, the student should have stripped herself naked

KARACHI: A recent incident of a student from the US taking her clothes off after she was questioned over her choice of dressing by her university professor during her thesis presentation quickly grabbed the attention of netizens with many giving their opinion over her response to her professor’s question.

Regardless of how right or wrong the professor was in questioning her or what a socially appropriate response would have been, it is about following the dress code or a socially acceptable code that is required for various social settings. In no possible reaction, the student should have stripped herself naked.

It is equally important that with the exaggerated and hyped awareness among the younger generation over its right to question values imposed on it, one uses his or her conscience and then react or respond accordingly.
