Ignorant claims

Letter May 15, 2018
It is indeed unfortunate to have a former prime minister throw his own country under the bus like this

LAHORE: As the country grapples with several issues on multiple fronts, including the economy and security, it’s none other than the thrice and the recently disqualified premier, Nawaz Sharif, who has taken it upon himself to add to the problems of the incumbent leadership. Perhaps given on the whim of his disqualification and many of the ongoing cases in the courts, Nawaz Sharif with a sweeping statement has put Pakistan’s position on Mumbai attacks under question.

Whereas in matters pertaining to relations with other states, internal political issues and personal vendettas are kept aside, the former prime minister has pointed at his own country’s intelligence as the one responsible for the Mumbai attacks. Hence, he has given the foreign media fodder to churn out Pakistan’s long-held stance on 26/11, as they took no time to pick up on his statements while playing them well against Pakistan.

It is indeed unfortunate to have a former prime minister throw his own country under the bus like this. And this statement should in fact act as an eye-opener for Sharif’s loyalists to make them realise on whose side is he on.
