A day after the PM’s promise for Fata reforms, Pervaiz Khattak denied any such developments until next year
KARACHI: There can only be two possible reasons for the contradictory statements of the prime minister and the chief minister of K-P province over merger of the Fata region with K-P. That is, either the latter sees the merger of the region with the province within four weeks, as implied by the PM, less than possible or he deems it important to disregard or discard whatever is stated by the government and PML-N members. A day after the PM’s promise for Fata reforms, Pervaiz Khattak has denied any such developments until next year, that is, 2019.
Both the federal and provincial governments should at the earliest initiate the process of reforms and merger, as the issue has been lingering for long and also because by the year 2019 there might not be the same governments at the centre and in the province.
