Wholesalers are selling goods to retailers at a high price; consumers are also being charged higher prices
KARACHI: With the month of Ramazan approaching, the prices of food items of daily use have skyrocketed as profiteers and hoarders seem to be looking to gain the maximum benefit. The prices of the necessary items have already been increased even before start of the holy month.
Wholesalers are selling goods to retailers at a high price which is why consumers are also being charged higher prices. For many people, these goods have become almost unaffordable.
Poor people in the country who cannot even make ends meet suffer the most. They have to go without eating for long hours even after breaking their fast. The authorities concerned should look into the matter on a priority basis and solve it.
