Owing to the crippling pressure that these exams bring with them some students are unable to cope

KARACHI: The suicide of a 15-year-old school girl has shocked many. Though the reason for her suicide is still not known, we can’t discount the fact that many school-going girls in Pakistan take their own lives due to the pressure of exams or similar critical personal problems.

Some school, colleges still set exams and evaluate students on the basis of what was done years ago, back in the ’90s without considering the changing dynamics of students’ lives since then. Owing to the crippling pressure that these exams bring with them some students are unable to cope and instead resort to taking their own lives. In the wake of these incidents, we should raise our voice against this system of education.
