I urge the authorities to look into the matter and ensure that Dolphin Force members are polite
LAHORE: The government has launched a new police unit called Dolphin Force for our security and protection. Although members of this force are doing a great job and taking steps to remove crime from our society, they are also sowing hatred in the hearts of citizens.
Dolphin force members are perhaps too young and most of them have not finished their graduation. They have only passed their intermediate exams in many cases. Is it right to hand weapons to unqualified youth and expect them to show maturity or wisdom at this age?
One day I was passing by a street. They stopped my car for checking without any reason. First, they checked my car and frisked me as well. There were two motorbikes with four officials as well.
They were using abusive language and trying to intimidate me. Such an attitude is unacceptable. If you want to stop a car and want to check it, there are procedures to follow instead of placing your vehicles in front of a car, considering me a criminal of some sort. The government should select educated individuals at least those who have bachelor’s degrees. Compared with Pakistan, the police’s conduct in most other countries is people friendly. They are polite and treat citizens well because they are educated and experienced.
I urge the authorities to look into the matter and ensure that Dolphin Force members are polite, non-intimidating and efficient.
