Running a parallel government

Letter May 16, 2011
May I ask Mr Sharif why he didn’t think of these things when he was prime minister of the country.

LAHORE: This is with reference to a report in your newspaper which quoted PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif as saying that the intelligence agencies should not run a parallel government and also that their budget should be discussed in parliament. These ideas are all well and good, in fact, but may I ask Mr Sharif why he didn’t think of these things when he was prime minister of the country (an office he held twice).
