Accidents that occur due to broken roads and failed planning have been on the rise for long
KARACHI: Every year, a fairly large number of new vehicles are thrust to the already overburdened roads of Karachi without any thought given to the planning to create extra capacity to cater to the massive influx of vehicles on the roads. Traffic is one of the major problems for many in cities across Pakistan. However, the case of Karachi surpasses all.
Accidents that occur due to broken roads and failed planning have been on the rise for long. Alongside mismanagement, hasty, unruly and risky driving practice is another major reason for traffic accidents. Unfortunately, we have little traffic sense and perhaps a tendency not to follow the traffic rules.
It is time the provincial government took appropriate steps to help improve the chaotic traffic in the capital of Sindh province.
