The mullah-military alliance needs to be broken altogether and that is in our country’s national interest.
ISLAMABAD: This is with reference to your editorial of May 14 titled “The DG ISI’s offer”. Resigning is the least that the army chief and DG-ISI should do after this colossal national shame. I wonder why resources are being expended on organising rallies in support of the establishment. All this is happening now because of the establishment’s policies vis-à-vis the Taliban or even Swat where for months the Taliban were tolerated. The end result is the Swat we all know — the Taliban there got out of control and a military operation had to be launched and over a million residents had to flee their homes.
The mullah-military alliance in our national polity needs to be broken altogether and that is in our country’s national interest.
