Cellphone addiction

Letter April 07, 2018
If a student is found guilty, strict and proper action should be taken

KARACHI: People in the country, especially the youth, are going through cellphone addiction — a compulsion to use one’s cellphone 24/7. This is a matter of serious concern, as students can be seen using their cellphones even inside their classrooms.

Students who use cellphones during class do so because they are bored in class and they don’t care about education. However, students are accountable for the work that needs to be done and to do well in order to graduate and have a good career they need to understand the importance of paying attention to their teachers. By using cellphones during lessons rather than paying attention, they are sacrificing their future.

As a result, the administration of all educational institutions should draw up strict rules and regulations against using cellphones during lessons. And if a student is found guilty, strict and proper action should be taken.
