It is unlikely that a change of leadership will bring significant change in the party policy
LAHORE: One cannot revise the opinion about Nawaz Sharif still outlining the party policy and taking major decisions even when Shehbaz Sharif becomes the party president. There is already a silent agreement on how things will likely work once Shehbaz takes over the party command. Although many from the party are nullifying the idea of the Punjab CM not having an authority equivalent to that of his brother, it is unlikely that a change of leadership will bring significant change in the party policy for the better.
Further, there shall be a clear distinction between the decisions taken by the two party camps, as Shehbaz, known for his conciliatory approach towards state institutions, might not be in a total agreement with what comes out of Nawaz and Maryam’s command over the party.
