The judiciary and the PML-N now seem to be more confrontational and wary of each other
ISLAMABAD: The prime minister’s meeting with the Chief Justice of Pakistan has not served its intended purpose for either of the parties. The judiciary and the PML-N now seem to be more confrontational and wary of each other. With that, the chances of reconciliation between the ruling party and the judiciary have dimmed even more.
As the chief justice has been reported to address the PM as a ‘requester’, ironically, it is the disqualified party head and the former PM, Nawaz Sharif, who took it upon himself to issue a rebuttal to the CJP. To reach conciliation, it is important that both the sides tone down their stance and statements about each other.
