More power to Malala and Pakistan
ISLAMABAD: After five years, Malala Yousafzai finally set foot in her homeland on March 29th. The 20-year-old was emotional and rightly so because if circumstances were different she would have never chosen to leave the country. Her return to Pakistan even for a short period of time is an answer to all her haters who had defended their stance of abusing her by saying she would never return. But she did and with pride in her eyes because the country has drastically changed in the span of five years.
A country where she was not only shot at but was also threatened by, welcomed her with open arms. This shows that Pakistan of 2018 is much different and safer than the Pakistan of 2012 and the credit for which goes to our armed forces, whose hard work and efforts are for all to see. Not only did Malala feel safe enough to step foot in her country but she will also be touring it to advocate for girls’ education. More power to Malala and Pakistan.
