Pakistan International Film festival

Letter March 30, 2018
Filmmakers are yet to explore other genres of the cinema, particularly that of art films and documentaries

KARACHI: Over the past few years, the Pakistani mainstream cinema has redeveloped and reemerged with some brilliant directorial projects that have managed to earn appreciation from the critics locally and internationally. However, the filmmakers are yet to explore other genres of the cinema, particularly that of art films and documentaries. Events like the currently ongoing Pakistan International Film Festival is one of such events, that gives space to these genres. The four-day festival will screen 210 films and is a must-visit for film and cinema enthusiasts.
