Attempts that backfire

Letter March 30, 2018
Every move made by the ruling party to mend its relationship with the judiciary backfires on it

MULTAN: It seems like every move made by the ruling party to mend its relationship with the judiciary backfires on it, only to make the situation worse and critical. Recently, the PM met with the chief justice of Pakistan, possibly to pitch in a more affable and less aggressive working relationship between the two, yet the meeting has only deepened the rift between the already divided PML-N.

It has been reported that only the top party leadership was aware of the meeting, and as a result, others who were kept in the dark have shown their disapproval of such a meeting, creating further divide in the party.
