Former prime minister has admitted his mistake of not keeping a distance from the Memogate scandal
KARACHI: Perhaps it is due to the political isolation that the PML-N has been facing at the hands of its potential political allies that the former prime minister has admitted his mistake of not keeping a distance from the Memogate scandal involving the PPP government’s ambassador to the US, Hussain Haqqani. The PPP and PML-N found themselves engaged in a confrontational situation when the PML-N parted ways and chose to become the opposition.
With that, the PPP’s involvement in numerous foreign policy failures tainted its tenure, yet the outcome of those events and the circumstances now did not spare the PML-N nor leave it unaffected. The PML-N, which is in dire need of support from other parties, is probably now regretting dragging the PPP to the court over the Memogate scandal.
