Incidents of harassment and sexual abuse are a common occurrence
KHYBER-PAKHTUNKHWA: The Metro Bus Service may offer the best commute to the residents of the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi, but as a comparatively cheaper mode of transportation, the standard of service has fallen over time. Travelling from Saddar to Secretariat gives a look of a torture cell where the commuters have to bear a lot of suffering until they reach their destinations. Buses are packed with passengers far more than their capacity. The torture level is beeped up for ladies and the elderly who have to travel while standing in the bus. Incidents of harassment and sexual abuse are a common occurrence. I urge the Punjab chief minister to run separate buses for ladies and the elderly in order to make travel bearable for them.
