Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif’s statement “Pakistan will not become proxy to any war,” is contrary to dark reality
KARACHI: Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif’s statement that “Pakistan will not become proxy to any war,” is contrary to the dark reality because Pakistan has time and again been dragged into wars of other countries and has also had a pivotal role in them for a considerable period. Pakistan’s involvement in the wars of other countries did not start with or after 9/11, in fact it dates back to the period of Soviet invasion of Afghanistan. World powers have always used weaker and less powerful states as their battle grounds, be it the case of Vietnam or Pakistan.
Hence, the foreign minister’s statement is unconvincing and do not change the reality.
