The trade issue between the two countries should not strain the friendly bilateral relations the two enjoy
LAHORE: The row between Pakistan and Turkey over a Free Trade Agreement and the awarding of the GSP+ status to Pakistan has now taken a decisive turn. Pakistan, of late, has been demanding the GSP+ status from Turkey as an alternative to the removal of additional duties Turkey has placed on Pakistani goods for which there is considerable demand in Turkey. As Pakistan looks forward to prospects of broadening its global trade markets, Turkey is likely to protect the demand for its own goods of the same categories.
However, the trade issue between the two countries should not strain the friendly bilateral relations the two enjoy along with the cooperation that extends not just to trade activities but other sociopolitical aspects too.
