Need for dialogue

Letter March 02, 2018
More than domestic and territorial reasons, it is due to inter-regional factors that the dispute remains undecided

KARACHI: In a recent media briefing, the US State Department spokesperson emphasised on the importance of Pakistan and India engaging in a dialogue to resolve their border issues. The border issues between the two are as old as their independence and have been worsened due to international mediators taking sides in the conflict to pursue their own interests. More than domestic and territorial reasons, it is due to inter-regional factors that the dispute remains undecided. Moreover, there are matters much bigger than the border line control violation that Pakistan and India need to work on bilaterally.
