Pakistan faced far worse situations during the PPP’s tenure in the federal government
LAHORE: Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal recently called the PPP out for politicising the issue of Pakistan’s placement on the Financial Action Task force’s grey list. His statement came in response to the PPP chairman’s statement about his party’s capability as the only one in a position to pull the country out of ‘international isolation’ it is currently facing. Pakistan faced far worse situations during the PPP’s tenure in the federal government. For example, the raid on Osama bin Laden’s compound in Abbottabad, Raymond Davis case and Hussain Haqqani’s infamous Memogate scandal are just a few of the numerous foreign policy disasters faced by the country.
With that, as the PPP’s tenure was no less faltering than the current one, the party should not engage in political point-scoring over the situation.
