As much as the two countries need to have a cordial relationship
ISLAMABAD: In the backdrop of the frosty Pak-US relations, the Foreign Office in its recent statement has said that Pakistan is working to mend its ties with the US while engaging in behind-the-scenes diplomatic manoeuvres. The statement is in part a reflection of the hope and disappointment that the authorities here would have probably faced. As much as the two countries need to have a cordial relationship, the Pakistani authorities have been pressured by the US for what it claims failing to do enough and harbouring militant outfits. Given the considerably long history of the blame game the US has played against Pakistan, it is unwise to think that such efforts would bring something positive for Pakistan.
