LAHORE: The latest rankings by the Corruption Perceptions Index, released by Transparency International, is another blow to the country’s image carrying the burden of Pakistan’s poor rankings by various indexes. Previously, Pakistan also fared poorly in the World Bank’s ease of Doing Business Index and now the aforementioned also depicts the so-called pace of development and progress in the country. From the threat of being put on the terror financing watchlist to frequent terrorist attacks and the staggering high figures for corruption within the government, it is not difficult to see where Pakistan’s economy is headed to.
