Supporting the military

Letter May 07, 2011
The fact of the matter is that intelligence agencies everywhere make mistakes.

FAISALABAD: This is with reference to your report of May 6 titled “After Osama: Breaking silence, Army asks US to reduce troops”. The fact of the matter is that intelligence agencies everywhere make mistakes. Look at what happened in America on 9/11. Did the US media go after the CIA’s throat for it? No. They didn’t engage in blame games and they planned for the future to ensure that such an intelligence failure was not repeated.

Instead of criticising the military and the intelligence agencies, we should be standing beside them to support them in their fight against militants and terrorists. If only the media would also realise this.
