Confrontation with the state institution has brought in its wake unrest in the country
LARKANA: Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam along with their partymen are in a state of denial and defiance. After being disqualified by the top court of the country, Nawaz Sharif, his daughter and his party heavyweights, including some cabinet ministers, have intentionally carried forward a vilification campaign against the judiciary.
Given the magnitude of the attempt to malign the judiciary, there can be no second opinion that the PML-N has emerged as a fascist party in the political landscape of our dear homeland.
Although all parties like the PPP and the PTI had in the past also criticised the courts whenever decisions were not given in their favour, they had not embarked on an organised campaign against the judiciary.
Nawaz Sharif and his daughter have crossed all limits in slandering the superior judiciary. Confrontation with the state institution has brought in its wake unrest in the country. There is no sane voice in the whole party that is willing to call for restraint towards this malicious campaign against the basic pillar of the state.
It would not be too late before misplaced policies will bring unimaginable trouble. Sanity demands the guns directed against the judiciary must be silenced and the Sharifs and their cronies be tried in the court of law and handed down punishment for their undemocratic exercise.
