Public drama

Letter February 10, 2018
Not only is it upsetting to see the party get divided in such a manner but it is also embarrassing to witness

KARACHI: The current split in the MQM-P only goes on to show that the party has lost all its chances to appear as a powerful engine for change in the upcoming general elections this year. Not only is it upsetting to see the party get divided in such a manner but it is also embarrassing to witness them make a folly out of their grievances. Firstly, they failed to solve their conflict internally and made a public affair out of it. And then they went on to literally cry on camera. Is this the kind of government we would want at the centre? And a candidate, like Farooq Sattar, who is rather fit for a role in the country’s flourishing drama industry than in any legislative house?

The so-called faithful vote bank of the MQM-P should knock some sense into their heads and choose their candidates wisely in the 2018 general elections.
