Traffic mess eases

Letter February 10, 2018
Lyari Expressway in Karachi has indeed served as a respite from the traffic chaos

KARACHI: Even though the completion of the project took a good decade and a half, the inauguration of the Lyari Expressway in Karachi has indeed served as a respite from the traffic chaos that commuters experience on the busy roads of the city on a daily basis. The expressway not only makes the commute shorter by a considerable amount of time but also spares motorists from unnecessary signals and speed-breakers that one finds on every other road in the city. Sometimes these speed-breakers are situated within less than 50 metres, the recommended distance, which is quite ridiculous.

While it is commendable that the expressway has been completed, I would also request the Sindh government to ensure that construction work going on in other areas is also completed soon.
