The Afghan people have suffered a lot; it is time to put an end to their suffering
LAHORE: The latest attack in Kabul that occurred barely a week after an attack in the city has pushed back the US-led fight against terrorism in Afghanistan. The Afghan Taliban have claimed responsibility for both the attacks, with the recent one killing dozens of people and wounding 151 others.
It is unfortunate that the country despite being part of the war against terror for the past 17 years is still vulnerable to such atrocities carried out by militant organisations like the Taliban. While the US is busy blaming Pakistan for its own failure in curbing terrorism in the country and Islamabad is busy in responding to its allegations, the people in Afghanistan are suffering and losing their lives. It is important that both the countries involved in this war sort out their problems and work together along with the Afghan government to put a stop to these attacks, even if it means sitting down with the Afghan Taliban and negotiating with them. The Afghan people have suffered a lot; it is time to put an end to their suffering.
