Confusion unending

Letter May 04, 2011
The role of intelligence agencies has always remained controversial in our history.

ISLAMABAD: The role of intelligence agencies has always remained controversial in our history. From spying for their masters to getting engaged in toppling governments, the secret agencies seem to have had their fingers everywhere.

Now, the Osama bin Laden drama staged at Abbottabad has raised many questions about our sovereignty and the ability of our forces to defend our country.

All this is made worse by the confusion caused by conflicting statements from various quarters and the absence of coordination has worsened the situation. The various institutions that make up the government should have a consensus among them and then a statement should come forward about what happened in Abbottabad.
