Government vacancies

Letter January 06, 2018
It is difficult to thoroughly scrutinise the applications received from all over the province

KARACHI: According to a news report, various government offices and departments have been ordered to fill over 25,000 vacancies across Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa within 90 days. The recruitment orders have been issued by the Performance Management and Reforms Unit, Peshawar. Although no single body or department is responsible to fill in all the vacancies, considering the long procedural formalities of recruitment in government offices in Pakistan, the deadlines set are least likely to be met. Further, it is difficult to thoroughly scrutinise the applications received from all over the province.

As the criteria and terms set to fill in the available vacancies remain unavailable, it is important that the same body set deadlines which can be met without any discrepancies and mismanagement in the recruitment procedure.
