The delimitation bill awaits passage as the PPP and the PML-N have still to come to an agreement
LAHORE: The delimitation bill awaits passage as the PPP and the PML-N have still to come to an agreement on the demands presented by the former. The PPP has put forward 12 demands for the PML-N to consider in order to ensure its support for the bill. However, the demands involve serious procedural tasks to make the recent census results more transparent. However, as stated by the PML-N, engaging in the verification activity as proposed by the PPP is likely to delay the timely conduct of the next general elections. The PPP’s otherwise plausible and credible recommendations are difficult to put into practice given the insufficient pool of resources and time.
