Undoubtedly, militarism has reached its peak in the contemporary world
SHIKARPUR: World states are in a complex situation. Each state has been trying to pursue its national interests to become the dominating influence over other states.
As far as Pakistan and India’s relations are concerned, it is true that China, the emerging economic might, has led India to scuttle the CPEC and OBOR initiative. This wave of economic growth has led India to join ‘Quad’, comprising the US, Japan, India and Australia in an attempt to counter Pakistan’s cooperation with China. Most recently, India has strengthened its military ties with Japan with the signing of an agreement for nuclear warheads.
Iran has strengthened its influence in Iraq and Syria in pursuance of its national interests. The US is trying its best to reduce Iran’s influence in the region.
Undoubtedly, militarism has reached its peak in the contemporary world. The major powers of the world, the US, China, Russia, Japan and others, should cooperate with one another in order to work for global peace.
