FATA reforms, resolution on Hazara province

Letter November 29, 2017
Ruling party has decided to move a resolution on formation of a Hazara province in the next NA session

LAHORE: The PML-N, the ruling party, has decided to move a resolution on the formation of a Hazara province in the next National Assembly session and has already taken other political parties on board to support it. Similar to the case of Fata reforms, the Hazara province is another issue which has been demanded by the locals of the region and the political stakeholders. Those who demanded a Hazara province said the province should be created on the basis of a referendum to ascertain the wishes of local residents.

Now that the government has decided to move a resolution on Hazara province, it is important that it works towards removing the causes of delay in implementing the Fata reforms. Without implementation, the resolution on Fata or a Hazara province would not add up to the policy implementation credentials of the government.
