The final showdown

Letter November 26, 2017
Any subsequent lawsuits against the government must be dealt with unbiasedly and realistically

ISLAMABAD: At last the government had resorted to using force to disperse the Islamabad sit-in which continued for over three weeks and caused enough rupture for the locals of the city. The police and Frontier Cops on Saturday, November 25th initiated a crackdown on the protesters. But what is most likely to happen next is the political point scoring from opposition parties as the government would be criticised on its failure to negotiate with the demonstrators without employing the use of force and weapon.

However, instead of opting for mudslinging, the political parties should support the government over the matter and stop any attempt by the religious-political clan behind protest in holding the government responsible for the outcome. Also, any subsequent lawsuits against the government must be dealt with unbiasedly and realistically.
