Best of both worlds

Recent news of Dina Wadia’s death at age of 98 is reminiscent of her prestigious and magnanimous family history

KARACHI: There is no such thing as best of both worlds. The pursuit of achievement is distinctively chosen by an individual, which defines most of the efforts made, enabling him to succeed desirously. In politics we have examples of famous personalities managing to attain impossible achievements while excelling magnificently towards aspired outcomes. However, people are so busy appreciating them and idealising their lives for their achievements that they seldom consider their losses blurred by the eminent successes hence pushed in the dark background.

The recent news of Dina Wadia’s death at the age of 98 is reminiscent of her prestigious and magnanimous family history. Not surprisingly, she chose not to relent to Jinnah even after she got marital separation from Neville Wadia just a few years later.

Successful people tend to lose their health, mental peace, loved ones, priorities, inclinations and attachments in the pursuit of achieving what they desire. Their strategies and choices reflect their priorities and trade-offs explicitly. Being a successful entrepreneur or for that matter founder of a nation, doesn’t imply that their lives had been perfect, as they fight wars of acceptance and failure in several other prospects of life.
