World Health Organisation recently conducted trainings in the country for effective dengue control and management
PESHAWAR: A team of the World Health Organisation recently conducted trainings in the country for effective dengue control and management. The team, however, ended up expressing their concern, primarily, over two aspects. The first was the not-so-welcoming and appreciative response of the doctors who were supposed to attend the training sessions, as many clearly did not bother to attend these sessions.
The second is the treatment administered to patients, which has been found to be flawed to diagnose the appropriate cure of the ailment and hence, has led to deaths which could have been avoided otherwise. As the province is already in a state of emergency due to an outbreak of dengue, the least the provincial government could do was to ensure the attendance of its doctors for training by a mission that had arrived in the country only for this purpose. And the failure to do so directly puts the efforts of the K-P government towards dengue control under question.
